Graham Spiers is an unlikely subscriber to Dave King’s drive for transparency in Scottish football.
Dozens of rules and regulations have been conveniently overlooked with barely a murmur but it seems that a rallying cry from the South African based criminal has made the topic newsworthy.
Murdoch MacLennan’s appointment an chairman of the SPFL and his role as non-executive director in Irish media group INM has turned out to be a very useful deflector for King.

Correct. That is the SPFL position. But their ‘necessary disclosures’ aren’t enough in my view. Their presumption of no COI needs a more robust presentation. MM himself could come out and put it all to bed, couldn’t he?

Eddie I’ve called out DK again and again and again. And you seriously believe I want ‘in’ with him? Really??

I don’t live on Twitter 24/7 but I very happily answer Qs when I can. C Ogilivie is a very decent guy who got dragged into a mess at RFC. It can happen to good people. I’ve got no RFC or CFC dog in this dispute, though I know some of you guys pour over all this.

By 26 April King promised to offer 20p per share for Sevco stock but that date has come and gone like most of King’s pledges.
At the end of February the Court of Session backed the actions of the Takeover Appeal Panel in demanding that shareholders left out of the 2015 takeover are offered the chance to sell up on their worthless stock.
Three months later King is no closer to complying, recently telling selected reporters that he was unable to set up a UK bank account.
As ever it’ll be matters on the pitch that highlight the chronic problems off the park at Ibrox with no investors prepared to be tainted by association with toxic King.
Steven Gerrard has still to make the first signing of his Revolution.
While MacLennan remains the target King can get away without scrutiny as another season of football at Ibrox is written off by the paranoid and gullible.
