Celtic target John McGinn is in the Hibs side to face NSI Runavik tonight.

That decision means that he would be ineligible to play for the hoops in any UEFA qualifying ties if his move to Celtic was to go through.

After winning the first leg 6-1 Hibs are assured of a place in the second round with tonight’s match effectively a warm up for that tie.

McGinn missed the first leg due to a though injury with Neil Lennon admitting that he was aware of the conspiracy theories about the missing midfielder.

Celtic have already had two offers turned down for McGinn with the clock starting to tick towards the English transfer deadline on August 9.

If Hibs don’t accept an offer by that date their options are effectively to sell to Celtic or risk losing the player for free next summer.

Players that play in qualifying rounds are eligible to play in the group stages of UEFA competitions.
