A High Court judge has upheld the injunction preventing Sevco from selling merchandise through a third party.

A full decision will be given at the end of this month in the latest row between Dave King and Sports Direct.

Last June the South African based criminal claimed that he had ripped up the contract set up by founding father Charles Green in 2012.

King didn’t mention the £3m paid from company funds to exit the deal or the ‘matching’ agreement that Sports Direct insisted on.

That clause is the reason behind the current court case with Sevco trying to rush through a new retail and distribution deal without honouring the contract to give Sports Direct the option to match- and retain- the contract.

Today The Scotsman has reported:

A judge on Wednesday said he would analyse evidence about the meaning of a contract clause at a High Court trial in London in late July. Mr Justice Phillips said bosses at Rangers should not sign any new deal until he had ruled on the contract row.

That ruling means that no legal replica strips will be available this month which is bound to be good news for Turkish market traders.

Part of Sevco’s submission to the High Court outlined the importance of getting the merchandise on the streets for the start of the domestic season.

Despite realising details of three new kits last week there is no evidence that Hummel have started production of the new strips.
