Celtic were handed the toughest possible draw when they were paired with EAK Athens in the third qualifying round of the Champions League- if they get past Rosenborg.
AEK Athens have no recent European pedigree due to being relegated three divisions for financial issues but have just won the league rated 14th in the UEFA co-efficient table.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will be at home for the first leg which takes place on August 6/7 with the away tie on August 13/14.
Now get the defence sorted a rb and cb please and we have to get past rosenborg first.

Think we need to strengthen the defence before that if we get through. Know nothing about them, but if they’ve beat Olympiacos to a title they must be decent

You’d expect to have to play rosenborg or Athens in the last game. To have to best both and play one more round is crazy. These are teams you would expect in uefa cup early knockouts. Euro cups monopoly is destroying the game

Assuming that Celtic get through against Rosenborg the hoops should have Jozo Simunovic and Mikael Lustig available for the matches which take place ether side of the second SPFL fixture.
Celtic will go into the home tie against AEK having played five competitive matches, the Greek Super League doesn’t start until August 25.
With highly rated opponents to face there will be pressure on Celtic to go into the transfer market but so far Odsonne Edouard has been the only signing made this summer.
