Despite their chairman facing a Contempt of Court charge and details of the continuing deal with Sports Direct being revealed Sevco have issued a statement about Murdoch MacLennan.
Sevco chief Stewart Robertson sat on the board of the SPFL that approved the appointment of the former Daily Record high flyer as chairman but now the Ibrox club want MacLennan axed.
Included in the latest statement are claims that the SPFL chairman ‘used highly inappropriate language when speaking about Rangers while working in the newspaper industry.’
The SPFL responded quickly to Sevco’s previous complaint about MacLennan which relates to a non-executive directorship that he holds with Dublin based Independent News and Media.
No name is given on today’s statement which is likely to be ignored by the SPFL who noted in their response that no direct complaint was made by the Ibrox club.
Should Sevco continue to put Denis O’Brien and Dermot Desmond in the spotlight they may find some of their own skeletons being exposed.
