Chic Young has described Sevco strike star Alfredo Morelos as a bad amateur.
The veteran broadcaster was watching Steven Gerrard’s side toil to a 0-0 draw against Shkupi to reach the second qualifying round of the Europa League.
Morelos had a nightmare around goal, snatching at anything that came his way with one attempted header at goal particularly woeful.
Earlier this year Radio Scotland pundits were debating whether the striker was worth £11m allegedly offered by a mystery Chinese club but as he suffered in the studio Young hit out at Sevco with their star striker coming in for special criticism.
He told listeners: “It’s been a bit of a yawn of a football match, not much excitement, and I’m shaking my head at Alfredo Morelos whose performance is that of a bad amateur.
“I’m bemused he continues to be selected in that Rangers team.”
Morelos is the only striker available to Steven Gerrard who seems determined to spend all of his budget on defenders.
The Ibrox club are still waiting on international clearance to complete the signing of Umar Sadiq on a season long loan from Roma.
In the second qualifying round Sevco are likely to face Croatian side Osijek who beat PSV Eindhoven home and away last season before losing out in the play-off round to Austria Wien on penalties.
