It has been great drama for social media but Scott Brown won’t be contributing to the Dedryck Boyata soap opera.

Over the last fortnight almost every scenario possible has been played out as the transfer window draws to a close while the clock ticks down on the final year of the defender’s contract.

Boyata was a surprise inclusion in the Celtic side that faced Hamilton yesterday, after a mix of jeering and cheering he netted the only goal of the game as Celtic climbed into second place in the table.

With five days left in the transfer window there is bound to be speculation linking the former Manchester City man with a move but it seems that there will be no further comment coming out of Celtic about the situation.

After beating Hamilton 1-0 Brown told The Sun: “What’s said at Celtic Park and Lennoxtown stays at Celtic Park and Lennoxtown, but it cleared the air, of course it did.

We are just looking forward to Thursday now. We push on and we want to get into the Europa League.

Then we’ve got a big game on Sunday before the international break, so they are two big games for us and we need two victories.”

Celtic have been linked with three central defenders over the last 48 hours with Brendan Rodgers telling Radio Scotland that he expected to see new signings arrive this week.
