Neil Lennon has admitted that Celtic are the only club to have put in a bid for John McGinn.
Blackburn and Brighton have been credited with an interest in the midfielder but so far no offers have been put on the table.
With four days to go before the English transfer window closes Hibs appear to be hoping that other bids emerge on the eve of a critical Europa League qualifier.
Celtic have had three bids for McGinn rejected but with numerous midfield options already at the club they could hold back and pick up the midfielder on a pre-contract agreement in January.
“He’s one of the best I’ve worked with in terms of what he brings to a team and the influence he has,” Lennon told The Sun.
“I don’t know if that’ll be his last game (yesterday’s 3-0 win over Motherwell). It’s going to be a fraught couple of days for him.
“The only bids we’ve had have been from Celtic and I’d be amazed if we don’t get more offers in.
“He was outstanding again – he’s at the peak of his powers at the moment.
“It’s a bit like the Van Dijk situation at Celtic – I couldn’t understand why nobody took a punt on him.”
St Mirren are due a one third cut on any profit from the transfer of the midfielder that they sold for £300,000 in 2015.
