Odsonne Edouard won’t be in the Celtic squad to face Suduva on Thursday.

The striker suffered a hamstring injury during the 1-0 defeat at Hearts on August 11 and has already missed the matches against AEK Athens and Partick Thistle.

According to a report in The Sun:

Edouard had suffered a strain ahead of the game in Greece and sat out of the Betfred Cup match with Partick Thistle as a precaution.

Now it’s understood the 20-year-old is likely to be missing until at least the Parkhead return against Suduva on August 30.

Edouard had led the line in both matches against Rosenborg, scoring the vital third goal in the 3-1 win over the Norwegian side.

Although the loss of Edouard is an obvious blow Brendan Rodgers does have Leigh Griffiths and Moussa Dembele both available.

Griffiths has started the last two matches but after making a pair of substitute appearances Dembele is in contention to start against Suduva on Thursday night.

Following the trip to Lithuania Celtic have three home matches in eight days- against Hamilton, Suduva, for which they are heavy favourites in the Europa league betting odds, and Sevco- before the first international break of the season.
