Chris Sutton wasn’t slow to highlight how two SPFL clubs went further in the Europa League than the mighty Burnley.
A 1-1 draw at home to Olympiakos saw the team from the seventh best team in England drop out at the play-off stage of the competition.
A bad night for the greatest league in the world… Burnley out…A good night for the Scottish teams… imagine the mocking from some down south if Celtic and Rangers had been knocked out by the 3rd best team in Greece…

Sutton has regularly bigged up the case of Scottish football and took a bit of a pounding after Celtic’s Champions League exit against AEK Athens.
Sevco were the first Scottish side to reach the group phase when they scraped past Ufa of Russia on a 2-1 aggregate. Unfortunately for the Ibrox side they will be without Alfredo Morelos and Jon Flanagan for the opening group matches after they were red carded today.
Celtic went through on a comfortable 4-1 aggregate win over Suduva with Leigh Griffiths scoring his 100th goal for the club with a first half free kick. Kris Ajer and Callum McGregor added to that goal in the second half.
The draw for the Europa League group stage takes place at 11am tomorrow Celtic Park Time.
