Celtic fans have welcomed back Emilio Izaguirre.

The Honduran signed a one year contract almost a year after leaving the club for Saudi Arabia.

When his family failed to settle it looked like Izaguirre may return to his native Honduras but a call from Celtic proved too good to resist.

Providing back-up to Kieran Tierney shouldn’t prove too demanding as the 32-year-old looks to add the seventh SPL/SPFL medal to his collection.

Neil Lennon paid £600,000 to Motagua to sign Izaguirre after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa with that fee turning out to be a bargain.

In his first season in Scotland the attacking left-back swept the board with Player of the Year awards but in August 2011 he broke his ankle against Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Although he never regained his initial form he played a key role in title wins under Neil Lennon and Ronny Deila.
