Derek McInnes has dismissed Celtic’s continued interest in Scott McKenna as just another rumour.

On Wednesday Brendan Rodgers admitted to discussions with Aberdeen over the defender but explained that it was made clear that the player wasn’t available for sale.

Yesterday the Celtic boss admitted that he was still looking for three or four signings with most newspapers claiming that interest in McKenna would be renewed.

After his side’s 1-1 draw at Hibs today McInnes denied renewed interest from Celtic and stated that it was only a matter of time before the Scotland internationalist moved to the English Premier League.

McKenna only broke into the Aberdeen side last autumn having spent the previous season on loan at Ayr United.

After breaking into the Dons first team he signed a five year contract in March quickly followed by picking up his first international cap.

McKenna is currently out injured with a pulled hamstring.
