Kris Commons has claimed that things aren’t right in the Celtic dressing room.

The former hoops midfielder made the claim on Sky Sports shortly after Celtic crashed to a 2-1 defeat away to Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

With two defeats and a draw away from home after just six matches the hoops have already dropped as many points as they did during the entire 2016/17 campaign.

Brendan Rodgers looked shocked when he was interviewed after the match with Commons picking up on the themes that Celtic fans were discussing.

He told Sky Sports: “It was a real, real disappointing performance.

Things aren’t right in that dressing room at the minute. The side-ward passing is very pedestrian, it’s very slow, there’s no-one in there that’s got any sort of confidence, any flair.

Teams are starting to wise up to how Celtic play. And because they’re low in confidence, and they’re not playing at a real tempo that they’re used to doing, teams are very, very comfortable. Kilmarnock were comfortable today.

It’s not like Celtic have got all these influential players in the final third that’s going to be creating so many chances.

There was very, very little created by Celtic today and that’s got to be a concern because it’s not just happened once, it’s happening on a regular basis now.”

Later he added: “It’s about how professional you’ve been, how much preparation he puts in to every single game, every training session.

They’ve no flair, they’ve no enjoyment, he said about players working hard but I want to see players enjoying playing football, trying one-two’s trying little flicks.”

Rodgers changed all four attacking positions from the side that laboured to a 1-0 win over Rosenborg on Thursday night.

Mikey Johnston, Ryan Christie, Scott Sinclair and Leigh Griffiths came into the starting XI but there was still no spark or creativity about the way that Celtic played.

Celtic are back in action on Wednesday night when they play St Johnstone for a place in the semi-final of the Betfred Cup.
