While Celtic fans were screaming at Bobby Madden for allowing a brutal assault on Odsonne Edouard by Scott McKenna go unpunished Kilmarnock fans were rubbing their eyes in disbelief at a penalty awarded by Don Robertson in their match against Motherwell.

With Motherwell already a goal up Aaron Taylor-Sinclair raced into the penalty box, drawing the attention of Stephen O’Donnell.

The Kilmarnock defender clearly draws back from making any challenge for the ball but using the favoured phrase of the cheats Taylor-Sinclair ‘anticipated contact’ and hit the deck.

Penalty shouted Don Robertson which will come as no surprise to Erik Sviatchenko who had a penalty awarded against him in 2017 despite there being a clear yard of space between the Celtic defender and diving Alex Schalk.

Fortunately justice was done when Jamie McDonald saved Curtis Main’s but it seems that Steve Clarke’s complaints about refereeing decisions isn’t doing his side any favours.
