Daniel Arzani put down the first marker on his Celtic career with a stunning goal against Aberdeen in the Reserve League Cup at Cappielow.

Eleven minutes from the interval the on loan Manchester City winger stepped up to score from a 20 yard free kick.

There was pace and placement on his shot as he lifted the ball up and over the defensive wall with experienced Dons keeper Tomas Cerny unable to get close to the ball.

That strike edged Celtic in front with substitute Ewan Henderson securing the win with a great strike in the 81st minute.

After a win and a defeat in their opening Reserve League matches today’s victory gets Tommy McIntyre’s team off to a winning start in the Reserve League Cup with Falkirk and Ross County making up the group.

CELTIC: Mullen, Ralston, Duffy, Welsh, Church, McInroy, Hendry (Henderson75), Benyu, Morgan, Arzani, Okoflex (Crossan 79).
Subs: Willison, Bell, Caffrey, Savoury, Mazis
