Celtic’s Betfred Cup semi-final with Hearts will be watched by the biggest crowd at a Scottish game since 1989.

Just over 72,000 fans packed into Hampden to watch Joe Miller accept a perfect pass from Gary Stevens to score the only goal of the game to lift the 1989 Scottish Cup.

Yesterday Celtic announced that they had sold out their 30,000 ticket allocation for Murrayfield with Hearts sales around the 25,000 mark.

Murrayfield has a capacity of 7,000 with the remainder of the tickets snapped up as hospitality and divided among sponsors and other SPFL clubs.

In 2014 Celtic played two Champions League qualifiers at Murrayfield with Brendan Rodgers taking his squad through yesterday to train at the home of rugby.

Celtic will go into the match without the injured Scott Brown while Dedryck Boyata is suspended after being sent off in the 1-0 quarter final win over St Johnstone.

Celtic will be cheered on by one especially excited young fan in Leipzig tomorrow night.

Young Jarvie Junior got the fright of his life #nowerenot when he was surprisingly presented with a ticket for the match yesterday.
