Tom Rogic was on the scoresheet last night as Australia beat Kuwait 4-0.

The Celtic midfielder played the full 90 minutes, scoring the third goal after 82 minutes in Graham Arnold’s first match in charge of the Socceroos.

International football is often seen as an inconvenience but after a week training in the UAE Rogic will return to Lennoxtown on Wednesday refreshed with the benefit of a full match under his belt.

The midfielder has had a slow start to the season, missing the Europa League tie with RB Salzburg through injury but returning to assist James Forrest in three of his four goals against St Johnstone.

With matches against Hibs, RB Leipzig and Hearts over an eight day period Brendan Rodgers will be delighted to have Rogic return in top form.

Daniel Arzani was a 65th minute substitute for Australia with former Celt Jackson Irvine in the starting XI.
