Filip Benkovic should report fit and well for Celtic’s vital SPFL clash with Hibs on Saturday.

The defender has had a stop start time since moving on loan from Leicester City- missing out on four matches due to an Achilles problem before returning for the 6-0 win away to St Johnstone.

Benkovic played the full 90 minutes for Croatia’s u-21 side in their 2-0 win over Greece last Thursday and picked up an 80th minute booking which meant that he missed the match against San Marino on Monday through suspension.

The partnership between Benkovic and Dedryck Boyata has given Brendan Rodgers’ side a solid base to work from after leaking goals earlier in the campaign.

With Hibs, Hearts and RB Leipzig to be faced over a nine day period Celtic’s defence will have to be at their strongest.

Rodgers will gather his squad together at Lennoxtown today for preparations after the international break knowing that the next month will go a long way to deciding how this season will shape up.
