Shameless BBC Scotland have turned to Kenny Miller for their latest Griff-bashing session.

The veteran Dundee striker scored for Scotland against England at Wembley in August 2013 then announced his retirement from international football while playing for Vancouver Whitecaps, he later went on to play for three seasons at Sevco.

Since Griffiths announced that he was focussing on his fitness during the international break he has been the subject of prolonged criticism from BBC Scotland with only Michael Stewart suggesting that there may be some management issues for Alex McLeish to address.

On Tuesday Ayr United boss Ian McCall was given the airwaves to trash Kieran Tierney with media favourite Miller called in on Wednesday to slaughter Griffiths.

I’m sure you could speak to the sports scientists or the coaches with the Scotland team,” the Dundee striker told Sportsound.

If you want to do extra work, you do the extra work that can help you get fitter but for me, you don’t pick and choose.

Scott (McDonald) spoke about game time – he wouldn’t get the same time he’d expect.

Again, you don’t just turn up when you’re getting the game time you’d expect.

You turn up to support the team if you’re not playing, give the team whatever you can if you are playing.

I understand that he might feel he’s not at his best but, for me, you don’t pick and choose when you play for your national team.”

Miller chose not to play for Scotland after his goal at Wembley.

Last season his spell at Sevco ended under a cloud after he was suspended following a 4-0 defeat from Celtic at Hampden.

Despite winning his appeal against a club fine Miller has never disclosed the reason for the suspension that ended his Ibrox career.

After a brief, and losing, spell as manager of Livingston he was sacked, since signing a two year contract at Dundee he has picked up one red card and no goals.
