Scott Brown has dismissed the Celtic-bashing of Kris Boyd.

The Kilmarnock substitute has found a stream of media outlets happy to give him air-time to promote his claim of splits in the Celtic dressing room.

BBC Scotland decided to interview Boyd on that matter, asked how he knew about the splits he answered ‘because’. The BBC decided to broadcast that insight.

Despite the ‘splits’ Celtic are now sitting in third place in the SPFL Premiership table with Brown looking to drive the club to their eighth successive title.

Asked about Boyd’s claims the Celtic skipper told the Evening Times: “I don’t read it so it doesn’t bother me.

I was told about it. People can have their own opinion and I think people can say what they want but they don’t know what happens daily in the dressing-room.

We play with a smile on our faces as we have done under this manager and we’ll continue to do it.

There are a load of pundits who just want to say something but that’s just people keeping themselves in a job.

We stick together and we have a great bunch of lads. We do our talking on the field.”

Brendan Rodgers suggested that Boyd would be better off concentrating on winning his place back in the Kilmarnock team.

So far this season the 35-year-old has started just three SPFL Premiership matches and appeared in one game as a substitute.

The leading SPL goalscorer of all time has yet to score in the top flight this season.
