Kilmarnock and Steve Clarke have been handed a slap on the wrist, suspended until the end of the season, for criticising the SFA and Willie Collum.

Clarke and his club were highly critical of the decision to red card Gary Dicker in a match against Hearts and the decision to reject an appeal against the decision.

The midfielder picked up a two match suspension with his manager believing that after putting Collum in charge of the Celtic v Sevco match following the red card the SFA were duty bound to stand by his decision against Dicker.

Kilmarnock stated:

Manager Steve Clarke has been handed a deferred two-match suspension following a hearing at Hampden.

The Killie boss attended an SFA hearing with Paul Gilroy QC over charges relating to comments made following Gary Dicker’s red card appeal in August.

The two-game touchline suspension will only be triggered if, prior to the end of the 2018/19 season, the manager breaches the same rule which led to the current disciplinary proceedings.

Kilmarnock FC have been handed a suspended £1000 fine.

In reaching its decision, and in respect of both the manager and the club, the Panel dismissed more serious charges which had been brought.

Eight days after red carding Dicker Collum decided to ignore Allan McGregor kicking out at Kris Ajer, after that match Ryan Jack called for Collum to be demoted without being charged by the SFA.

The Lanarkshire based referee continues to enjoy the full support of the authorities and will take charge of Sunday’s Betfred Cup semi-final when Celtic take on Hearts at Murrayfield.
