For a broadcaster and publisher that likes to cover itself in all matters Ibrox, strangely, BBC Scotland have still to inform their licence payers about Wednesday’s bad news regarding Sports Direct.

Amazingly, a story that overlaps between News, Sport and Business hasn’t been deemed worthy of a mention on the website run by the state broadcaster.

At a stretch they could claim that on radio and television other stories have taken priority but online they have enough bandwidth to cover details of Spartak Moscow sacking their manager and turning up at Ibrox with their reserve squad.

Wednesday’s courtroom defeat is a massive blow to Sevco although with the gullible planning stink bomb campaigns against the House of Fraser the enormity hasn’t quite sunk in. Perhaps some explanation from the state broadcaster would help?

In two separate court actions in the last four months Sevco have had to shell out around £1m in costs for two battles lost.

Additionally there are damages to be calculated, Sports Direct could have been looking at over £1m in profit from the sale of Hummel kit.

Not only have Sevco missed out on the ‘orange tap’ windfall but they are having to pay out for trying to pull a fast one on one of Britain’s leading businessman.

When the noose finally tightens on King’s regime the gullible are certain to come out with the favoured plea that ‘naebdy tellt us’.

In the case of the state broadcaster they will be correct, just as with the old club they really should have listed to the warnings from the internet bampots.
