Switching a Betfred Cup semi-final to Murrayfield with less than four weeks notice is far from a done deal.
The SRU are already planning for their first international on November 10 with the residents of Morningside unlikely to be opening their Bentley boots to host garden parties for visiting football fans.
Murrayfield hosting one of League Cup SF’s is far from a certainty. Understand Scottish Rugby have replied to SPFL’s approach with a list of concerns / Q’s about organising in such a short time frame – considerable challenges involved, with Autumn Tests a fortnight later.

Having bungled the scheduling of both matches from the offset it wouldn’t be any surprise to discover that a Murrayfield switch isn’t possible.
As soon as the semi-final draw was made it was widely leaked to the media that Murrayfield was under consideration to host one of the matches.
Last Thursday evening Neil Doncaster made the surprise announcement that both games would be played at Hampden claiming that the SPFL were contractually obliged to play every Celtic semi and final at the Glasgow venue.
Yesterday that myth was demolished with Murrayfield back as an option- although it is far from certain that the SRU will hand over their stadium 13 days before it hosts the international against Fifa.
