Kieran Tierney has been getting grilled on Celtic’s troubled start to the season by his dad Michael and family!

The defender has largely been immune from criticism but after a Champions League KO from AEK Athens and two Premiership defeats there has been plenty for hoops fans to debate and discuss.

Tierney has enjoyed the successes under Brendan Rodgers to the full but was given a testing opening season in the first team under Ronny Deila which included two cup semi-final defeats at Hampden.

After a match most of his team-mates can escape and unwind but in a certain part of Wishaw things happen a little bit differently.

That’s the thing being a Celtic fan — you go home to more Celtic fans talking about the game,” the defender told The Sun. “You can’t get away from it.

To an extent it is what you want because I’ve always loved Celtic and always talked about them after games when I came home when I was younger.

Now when I come home my dad is talking about it: ‘What about this, you should have shot, you should have had a goal there’ and all that.

It’s brilliant. But sometimes you need to switch off from football and concentrate on other stuff and concentrate on training as well.”

After back-to-back wins against St Johnstone and Aberdeen Celtic return to Europa League action on Thursday away to RB Salzburg.

With both teams opening their campaign with a win the victors of Thursday’s clash will be in pole position to progress into the last 32.
