Chris Sutton delivered a scathing verdict on Celtic’s Europa League defeat against RB Leipzig.
The scoreline was only 2-0 but it was the attitude and approach of Brendan Rodgers’ side that shocked the BT Sport pundit.
Two goals just past the half hour mark from Matheus Cunha and Bruma gave Leipzig full points with Celtic never threatening to get back into the match.
I’m sorry changes or not there are ways to lose a game and that wasn’t one of them… RB Leipzig 2-0 Celtic. Average age Celtic 24.4.. average age Leipzig 22.5.. 7 full internationals plus £21.5 million in transfer fees! The bar has been lowered if that’s acceptable..

Well your bar is lower then Brian if you’d take a 2-0 defeat before kick off in the Europa League… this is Celtic we are talking about… https://t.co/ezFUth2flf

Both goals were the result of defensive errors with very few of Brendan Rodgers’ side earning pass marks.
With a Betfred Cup semi-final to come against Hearts on Sunday Celtic have two new defensive injuries to contend with.
Cristian Gamboa appeared to pull a muscle in the build up to the second goal and was replaced at the break by Mikael Lustig while Jozo Simunovic was stretchered off with what looks like an ankle injury with 15 minutes left to play.
With Dedryck Boyata suspended for the Hearts match Celtic look like lining up with Filip Benkovic and Jack Hendry in the centre of defence.
