Celtic fans were in agreement with Chris Sutton over his ‘ways to lose’ verdict on Celtic’s 2-0 defeat to RB Leipzig.
After a solid first 30 minutes the hoops conceded two quick goals from Matheus Cunha and Bruma and never looked like troubling the German defence.
Sutton was scathing with his comments on BT Sport with Celtic appearing content to suffer no further damage
Well your bar is lower then Brian if you’d take a 2-0 defeat before kick off in the Europa League… this is Celtic we are talking about… https://t.co/ezFUth2flf

Bang on! I dont expect to win every game in Europe. However, I’d expect a tighter defence and cut out the silly mistakes that cost us EVERY game. I also expect more desire and passion from the squad

Chris is right tonight, we don’t expect to win big games like this, but minimum requirement is that we compete, we were brushed aside yet again, no fight or spirit in the team, a distinct lack of quality too. It’s not good enough for Celtic.

Against bigger stronger faster and technically superior team weve always managed to find a way to punch above our level. It has finally caught up with us in Europe and we are far too easy for players to accept a loss now.

Spot on Chris, there is an acceptance amoung some Celtic fans that this and other defeats are ok. Not on no matter what team we put out you go down fighting. Shocking!

With a Betfred Cup semi-final to come against Hearts on Sunday Celtic have two new defensive injuries to contend with.
Cristian Gamboa appeared to pull a muscle in the build up to the second goal and was replaced at the break by Mikael Lustig while Jozo Simunovic was stretchered off with what looks like an ankle injury with 15 minutes left to play.
With Dedryck Boyata suspended for the Hearts match Celtic look like lining up with Filip Benkovic and Jack Hendry in the centre of defence.
