After a month long run at the Hydro Kevin Bridges popped over to Belfast where he bumped into fellow Celt John Higgins.

Celtic were no doubt top of the bill as Wishaw met Clydebank with both men regulars at Celtic Park.

Back in 98 after winning his first World Championship Higgins paraded the trophy at Celtic Park on the day that the 10 was stopped by Wim Jansen’s team.

Bridges has been centre stage at Celtic Player of the Year events with most of the first team getting along to see his run at the Hydro.

With Celtic back at the top of the Premiership both supporters can concentrate on the day job while hoping that Brendan Rodgers can take his side through to 8-in-a-row.

That sort of landmark would have been unthinkable when the two bhoys were growing up under the shadow of David Murray’s era of tax cheating to success.

With a level playing field of sorts now operating in Scottish football Higgins and Bridges will be hopeful of much more celebrations in the near future.
