Christie’s quality will be well known to all at Pittodrie, since leaving Derek McInnes’ side in the summer his progress has accelerated- especially over the last month.
Alongside his natural skills the midfielder from Inverness is now comfortable that he is playing alongside others on his wavelength.
When he bursts forward with the ball Forrest knows where to anticipate the pass arriving, when McGregor has possession he knows the type of ball that Christie will be looking for.
Aberdeen’s Scotland contingent have another couple of training sessions before the match with Israel on Tuesday night.
After that the next time they see their international team-mates it will be as Hampden opponents- backed up by Tom Rogic, Odsonne Edouard and other guests.
