For the second time in a week Ryan Christie was on the receiving end of a head-butt.

At Livingston Kevin Clancy felt that a strong word was enough punishment for Dolly Menga, in Albania Russian ref Vladislav Bezborodov sent home skipper Mergim Mavraj packing.

Against ten men Scotland cruised to a 4-0 victory, with Mega on the park Celtic were held to a goal-less draw at Livingston.

The same laws applied to both matches with Christie able to contrast how different referees react to similar actions.

“That’s two in a week,” the Celtic midfielder told the Daily Record.

“I wasn’t sure if it was the captain who made the initial challenge but I was trying to get the ball off him for the free-kick and he seemed to get really aggressive and put the head towards me.

“I am happy that the officials saw this one.”

Christie was starting his first competitive international and was one of the star men as Scotland came up with just their third win since Alex McLeish replaced Gordon Strachan.

The in-form midfielder linked up well with Callum McGregor and James Forrest as Scotland took full advantage of playing against ten men.

On Tuesday night Scotland require a win over Israel to progress to the next qualifying stage for the European Championships.
