Scott McDonald was thrilled by James Forrest’s stunning second goal against Albania.

His first goal wasn’t too shabby but the two touches required for Scotland’s fourth on the night drew praise from all quarters.

McDonald managed to make 26 appearances for Australia without getting on the scoresheet, last night.

Last night in Albania was Forrest’s 25th international appearance after being overlooked for both of the previous UEFA Nations League matches.

Contrary to his usual safety first or win ugly reputation Alex McLeish went for an attack minded side last night with Forrest wide on the right with the support of Callum McGregor, Ryan Christie and Stuart Armstrong on his inside.

On Tuesday night Forrest will be expected to continue his rich run of form when Scotland host Israel needing a win to progress to the next play-off stage for a place in the 2020 European Championships.
