James Forrest has finished the Nations League group stage as joint top scorer- ahead of Harry Kane and the rest of Gareth Southgate’s golden boys.
The Celtic winger scored a hat-trick in Scotland’s 3-2 win over Israel to add to his double away to Albania on Saturday.
Stan Dragun (Belarus), Haris Seferovic (Switzerland), Yura Movsisyan (Armenia) and Alex Mitrovic (Serbia) have also scored five times.
Forrest was left out of Scotland’s first two qualifying matches but after nine call-off’s he bailed Alex McLeish’s side out with a well taken hat-trick.
Former Celtic midfielder Beram Kayal opened the scoring in the 9th minute but the in-form Celtic winger dragged Scotland back into the match.
Forrest required just two touches for each of his goals in the 34th, 43rd and 64th minutes and although Israel pulled a goal back through Zahavi in the 75th minute Scotland held on.
McLeish’s side mist now win two more one off matches if they are to gain a place at the 2020 European Championship finals.es
