Forrest scored twice in the 4-0 win away to Albania on Saturday and continued where he left off at Hampden.
Going into the match with Albania the 27-year-old was looking for his first international goal but after tonight’s efforts he is joint top scorer in the group phase with five goals.
Since he struck four goals in Celtic’s 6-0 win at St Johnstone Forrest has been deadly in front of goal with his current tally running at 12 in his last 11 matches.
Forrest won’t have to wait long for his next Hampden visit, a week on Sunday he’ll be there for the Betfred Cup Final looking for his third successive winners medal in the match against Aberdeen.
