Boomakers are offering very strange odds for Thursday’s Europa League tie between RB Salzburg and RB Leipzig.
Despite having won in Germany, being unbeaten at home in two years of Europa League matches and winning their first four Europa League ties the Austrian side aren’t favourites against their German ‘parent club’.
According to Ladbrokes you can have 27/10 on a Salzburg victory while Leipzig, on the back of losing to Celtic are priced at 20/23.
William Hill offer odds of 11/4 for a Salzburg win and just 88/100 on an away win.
With any normal run of form, result and group settings the odds would be reversed with Salzburg expected to follow up their win in Germany with a repeat on home soil.
Similarly after losing away to Celtic it is incredible that Leipzig are odds on to win in Austria.
If Leipzig win they will go onto nine points with Celtic capable of matching that by winning away to Rosenborg.
That would leave the way open for three teams to finish the group on 12 points with a complex calculation looking at the results without Rosenborg to decide the top two to go through to the last 32 of the Europa League.
Celtic are priced at 7/10 to win away to Rosenborg.
