John Hartson believes that James Forrest is in the form of his life.
Since scoring four goals against St Johnstone at the start of October there has been no stopping the winger- destroying domestic, European and international opponents.
While some Celtic supporters hang on every word from Patrick Roberts time after time Brendan Rodgers turns to Forrest with the 27-year-old coming up with the goods.
After signing a new four year contract earlier this season Forrest is clearly committed to Celtic although his recent displays won’t have gone unnoticed elsewhere.
“I don’t know what he is worth right now in a financial sense but I think you can see quite clearly what his worth is to Celtic,” Hartson told the Evening Times. “And he is far better out on Celtic Park than playing elsewhere with money sitting in the bank.
“He has become one of the big-game players for Celtic. You can rely on him to turn up for the Champions League qualifiers or the Europa League. He has scored against Rangers, he has done it in the games where the pressure is on and so much is riding on the outcome.
“He seems to have hit a point in his career where he just looks so comfortable and much of that comes with knowing that you are playing at your best and that you believe you are turning in a big performance every time you cross the white line.”
Forrest is in action for Scotland tonight against Israel at Hampden before he returns his attention to club matters and a critical eight days for Celtic.
An SPFL clash at Hamilton is followed by a trip to Rosenborg in the Europa League before another Hampden trip, this time to face Aberdeen in the final of the Betfred Cup as the hoops look to lift the first trophy of the season.
