Alex McLeish is facing another key call off from his Scotland squad to face Albania on Saturday night.

According to the Daily Record John McGinn is set to pull out after discovering a calf injury.

Since he decided to publicly criticise Leigh Griffiths, including questioning his private life, McLeish has been beset with call offs.

Leading upto the squad announcement James McArthur announced his international retirement while Matt Ritchie and Robert Snodgrass decided to make themselves unavailable.

On Saturday Stephen O’Donnell, Charlie Mulgrew and Kevin McDonald called off with Craig Gordon pulling out the next day.

Ryan Jack was called in as a replacement on Sunday but left injured on Tuesday with Mikey Devlin pulling out on Wednesday.

McGinn looks like becoming Thursday’s call off with Andy Halliday sitting on stand-by.

Scotland play Albania on Saturday followed by Israel on Tuesday needing to take four points to top their Nations League group to go forward into two qualifiers for a place in the 2020 European Championships.
