The excellent Celtic by numbers website has come up with a simple way to record players contribution to the team.
For the first seven Premiership matches of the season there wasn’t much of a positive nature to record as Celtic laboured through matches struggling to find the net.
That all changed when they travelled to St Johnstone, racked up a 6-0 win and haven’t looked back since.
I like the Ice Hockey construct of 2pts for a goal and 1 pts for an assist to assess Scoring Contribution.
By that measure, Celtic’s top 5 now:
Edouard 28
Forrest 28
McGregor 15
Rogic 12
Griffiths 11
Ntcham 11
Sinclair 11Some season brewing for Forrest in particular

James Forrest scored four against the unfortunate Saints, it may have gone unnoticed elsewhere but since then Tommy Wright’s side have won four matches on the bounce.
Assisting Forrest big time was Tom Rogic with almost the entire Celtic team enjoying their best form of the season.
Rogic now has competition and an accomplice in Ryan Christie with the former Inverness Caley Thistle midfielder enjoying the most productive week of his Celtic career.
Hearts will be pleased to see the back of Christie, they won’t have to face Celtic again until the end of February.
