Karamoko Dembele is showing the benefits of the Celtic Academy with England’s u-17 squad in France.

The 15-year-old scored for England in their 4-2 win over Austria at the Val de Marne four team tournament.

Dembele will still be eligible to play u-16 football next season but among the players from the richest Academies in football he is clearly one of the outstanding talents.

Over the last couple of years England has become one of the most successful countries in the world at under age levels as they start to see a return on the money invested in St George’s Park.

Dembele is the only player from outside of England in the u-16 squad with his final international destination still to be decided.

The 15-year-old has turned out for Scotland at various age levels, when he turns 16 in February he will be able to play in the Reserve League and is expected to make his Celtic first team debut before the end of the season.

England also play France and Japan in the Val de Marne tournament.
