At lunchtime today Celtic supporters will briefly turn their attention away from domestic issues to tune in to the last 32 draw in the Europa League.

Out of the 15 possible opponents four of them are from Spain with two each from Germany and England although there could also be a chilly return to Zenit St Petersburg.

Spain in mid February should be a little warmer with La Liga providing Real Betis, Sevilla, Valencia and Villarreal in the seeded section of today’s draw.

The drama, excitement and joy of Thursday night was quickly forgotten by Sunday’s performance and result against Hibs which was a cruel reminder of domestic failings.

As an unseeded team Celtic will be at home for the first leg on February 14 with the return match a week later.

Should they be paired with Arsenal or Seville the return leg will be on Wednesday February 20 to avoid playing on the same date as another team in England or Spain.
