Shay Logan has had a lot to say about Celtic, today he got a close up view of just how special Brendan Rodgers’ side is.
In first half stoppage time Dedryck Boyata sent a long ball out of defence for Ryan Christie to race onto.
It was panic stations in the Dons defence as last season’s team mate raced in on goal.
Joe Lewis parried Christie’s shot but as the ball broke free the Celtic midfielder beat Logan to the ball to fire it high into the net.
As Logan sank to the ground Christie raced away to accept the acclaim of the Celtic support.
There were no further goals in the game as Celtic claimed the first trophy of the season- their seventh since Brendan Rodgers took over as manager.
Aberdeen have been runners up for five of those trophy successes with Celtic- twice in the Betfred Cup and twice in the SPFL and once in the Scottish Cup.
