A couple of days without a signing saw some online Celtic fans reach out for ‘the big announcement’.
Various times in Dubai were suggested until it was discovered that the squad was flying home on Sunday with just some airport lounge pictures to speculate over.
Later on Sunday it was claimed that a stage was being constructed at Celtic Park for the big announcement although some pessimists suggested that it was for the three signings already made this month.

It does seem unlikely that Oliver Burke, Timo Weah and Vakoun Issouf Bayo will be joined by a new team-mate today although there are bound to be rumours of press conferences being called at various stages of the day.
The most recent big announcement in January was nine years ago when Robbie Keane was on his way from Tottenham, while the striker did his part it didn’t do Tony Mowbray or the title challenge much good. Scott McKenna and James McCarthy (on loan) were the most popular rumours yesterday but neither are likely to be at Celtic this week.
With two weeks of the transfer window remaining defence is the area in obvious needs of strengthening, after being linked with Timothy Castagne and Omar Elabdellaoui expectations are high that a quality right-back will be signed to solve an obvious problem position.
