Neymar has praised Timo Weah for deciding to join Celtic on loan.
The Brazilian will never win any popularity contest in the hoops dressing room but his ability on the ball when he he is not rolling around horizontally can’t be questioned.
Weah decided to take the Odsonne Edouard route by moving to Celtic on loan till the end of the season with some suggestions that another 12 months could be added to his stay.
While Neymar chases the Champions League and the Balon D’or in the French capital he’ll be keeping an eye on the progress of his teenage team-mate out on loan at Celtic.
“It is a very exciting move for him from what I have seen of his talent he has everything to go and be one of the top attacking players in Europe,” the Brazilian told the Daily Record.
“It is a good move for him, a good move for Celtic as they are getting such a big talent, and also a good move for PSG because he has a chance to get experience and games and come back to us a more complete player.
“He did have options – but he chose the right one. Celtic are a big club, in their league they attack a lot and score a lot of goals, and also they are still in Europe – so they offer him much.”
Weah arrived in Glasgow yesterday as a Celtic player as Brendan Rodgers’ squad flew in from Dubai.
On Saturday he’ll get his first taste of Scottish football when Celtic take on Airdrie Utd/Clydebank in the Scottish Cup quickly followed by the visit of St Mirren four days later.
With new attacking options Rodgers may return to a twin strike force similar to that used at the start of the season when Edouard teamed up with Moussa Dembele.
