Brendan Rodgers has warned Leigh Griffiths to cut down on the jollies and concentrate on clearing his issues.
The striker has been given a break from football to deal with a number of personal issues but has recently been creating more headlines.
On December 29 he was pictured at the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road before being spotted at Newcastle Races at the weekend.
The Sun went to town with pictures of Griffiths at the races claiming that the striker has a gambling addiction, the 28-year-old took to social media to issue a lengthy denial about that matter.
Rodgers has been forced to bring in additional firepower this month and is less than impressed by reports coming through about Griffiths’ rehabilitation.
“It’s very important that he understands why he is off and why he has been given the time off,” the Celtic boss told The Sun. “Why he has to maximise that time in terms of getting better.
“That’s about getting specialist help and lying low and focussing on the simple things in your life that will allow you to be better.”
Griffiths made his last appearance for Celtic on December 9, appearing as a late substitute in the 5-1 win at home to Kilmarnock.
