Sutton’s Celtic transfer pledge

Chris Sutton is convinced that Celtic still has work to do in the transfer market.

The hoops are notoriously slow when it comes to completing transfer business but have already brought in three players since the window opened 11 days ago.

Brendan Rodgers has brought in fresh attacking options with attention now firmly turned to the other end of the park.

Burke will have a point to prove and Weah is a talent,” Sutton explained to The Sun. “Bayo has scored goals in Slovakia.

The question is whether these players will get Celtic over the line in the title race. I think they still have business to do.”

Olympiakos right-back Omar Elabdellaoui has been linked with a £4m move today with that position an obvious area for strengthening.

Central defence remains a problem with Dedryck Boyata and Filip Benkovic unlikely to be at the club next summer.

Scott McKenna was the subject of a failed bid in the summer but so far there has been no suggestion of Celtic returning with an improved offer for the Aberdeen centre half.
