Scott Sinclair took to Instagram to celebrate his second hat-trick in seven weeks.

The winger opened and closed the scoring in Celtic’s 5-0 win over St Johnstone to book a place in tonight’s quarter final draw for the Scottish Cup.

On December 26 he scored a hat-trick away to Aberdeen and was only robbed of a match ball from the Scottish Cup win over Airdrie United because of an honest mistake from a linesman.

After a dazzling first season at Celtic the former England u-21 internationalist blew hot and cold last season, finishing the season on the bench as Callum McGregor excelled in the advanced left sided role.

That situation continued for much of this season but headed goals away to AEK Athens and Rosenborg showed that Sinclair hadn’t lost his eye for goal.

Having put down a marker at Pittodrie he has returned from the winter break in Dubai with renewed confidence with Celtic racking up seven domestic wins without conceding a goal. Sinclair’s own run is now at 10 goals in nine matches.

Valencia and Kilmarnock will provide stern tests of Celtic’s form but with Sinclair posing a real goal threat Brendan Rodgers’ side have a new found attacking edge.
