Rod Stewart greeted TalkSPORT listeners with a chorus of ‘There’s only one Neil Lennon’ when he joined Alan Brazil this morning.
On Tuesday the entertainer phoned up the radio station to reveal that he was in tears at the news that Brendan Rodgers was on his way to Leicester City- comparing it to him packing up in mid tour.
Famously in 2012 Stewart was in tears as he watched Celtic beat Barcelona 2-1 in the Champions League with Lennon masterminding that performance.
“It really was the greatest of nights,” the singer told the listeners to Talksport . “Listen I think that me and all the Celtic supporters have got to move on, we are all bitter, I think that there was a banner in the crowd that said ‘You were never a Celt, you were just a fraud. I think that said it all. We got a move on, I better wish Leicester luck, I’ve got a lot of fans in Leicester. I got to be careful.”

Lennon was introduced to the media on Wednesday morning then took charge of the team, assisted by John Kennedy for last night’s dramatic win over Hearts that maintained Celtic’s eight point lead at the top of the table.
Stewart is currently on holiday in Dubai with last night’s action kicking off at quarter to midnight.
It was early in Thursday morning when Odsonne Edouard scored the winning goal to the delight of the visiting support and the new management team on the touchline.
With ten matches left to play Celtic are eight points clear at the top of the table with the club from Ibrox and Aberdeen to visit Celtic Park before the SPFL split.
Next up for Lennon is a return trip to Easter Road to face Hibs in the Scottish Cup, a month after parting company with that club.
