Chris Sutton couldn’t resist a sarcastic dig at Rangers today after their 0-0 draw at home to St Johnstone handed Celtic a massive title advantage.

If Brendan Rodgers’ side can win at Kilmarnock tomorrow they will go eight points clear with just 12 matches left to play in the title race.

Sutton spent his afternoon in the BT Sport alongside Robby Savage and Neil Lennon as they waited on goal news from Ibrox.

The first half passed with little of note happening with the expensive Jermain Defoe replacing Alfredo Morelos who was suspended.

Steven Gerrard threw on Glenn Middleton, Kyle Lafferty and Koulibaly to try and turn the match around with Steve Davis among those substituted.

At the final whistle the remaining home supporters booed their team off the park knowing that a Celtic win tomorrow will make an eighth successive hoops title success an odds-on certainty.

Elsewhere in the SPFL there were wins for Hibs (over Hamilton) and Dundee (away to Livingston) while Aberdeen drew at home with St Mirren.
