Celtic fans jumped to the support of Callum McGregor after he was involved in a full-time confrontation with James McFadden after Scotland’s 3-0 defeat to Kazakhstan.
The midfielder captained his country for the first time and was one of the few players to earn pass marks as Scotland lost to the team ranked 117 in the FIFA rankings.
James McFadden. The guy who’s whole career consists of one goal. Footballs version of David Brent.

McLeish useless, long past his sell by date, along with Peter Grant, if he ever had one in coaching, as for James McFadden, utterly useless, does the tour of the media like he is some kind of authority figure, done nothing, won nothing, huge ego, bolt.

Reports of the confrontation came from Radio Scotland’s commentary team with the incident missed by the local television coverage used by Sky Sports.
Interviewed straight after the match McGregor told Sky Sports: “It’s massive frustration. You come away and want to start the campaign well but you’ve got to play better than that if you want to gather points.”
Alex McLeish wasn’t asked about the incident when he was interviewed by Sky Sports.
McFadden had no previous coaching experience when he was appointed as a coach alongside Peter Grant by McLeish.
His appointment appeared to be aimed at winning over the Tartan Army but now looks to have badly backfired.
Unless the SFA take action over their coach Celtic will be expected to make a statement in order to support one of their most important players.
