Since the announcement on Tuesday morning that Billy McNeill had passed away there has been an incredible outpouring of emotions from the Celtic support.
The news wasn’t unexpected but the reactions have been spontaneous with supporters expressing the thanks and gratitude as they celebrated an incredible life that almost all can relate to.
At the bottom of the Celtic Way a statue has become a shrine while social media has been at it’s most powerful with images and stories shared.

Inside Celtic Park the club did their bit with a rendition of Nessun Dorma perfectly performed to an audience that is unlikely to frequent the Opera House too often.
On the pitch the performance wasn’t classical but there was a huge sense of drama, as the clock reached 67 Celtic’s number 5 headed the ball into the net.
Title number 8 is only one point away, for the second time.
