Celtic fans are demanding that the hierarchy of the club go after the SFA following news that Scott Brown has been charged with ‘not acting in the best interests of Association Football’.
It seems that there are no rules at the SFA to deal with laughing and smiling so a barely used and vague ‘catch all’ charge has been dredged up to appease the baying mob who have been agitating since Sunday’s Glasgow derby.
Since Brown is the only player being charged it has to be assumed that the half dozen Ibrox players that jostled with the Celtic skipper were acting in the best interests of the game.
The best evidence that has been produced so far shows Brown about 12 yards from the touchline when he gestured to the crowd. He was on the field of play in front of hundreds of Celtic fans in the South Stand then turned towards the half way line to share the acclaim of hoops’ supporters.
While denying Celtic a place in the 2011/12 Champions League qualifiers is an on going issue for many fans and shareholders there are a number of recent issues that make supporters suspicious of the SFA and questioning their club’s determination to ensure justice.
Statements questioning the refereeing decisions made by Steven McLean in April 2015 against Inverness Caley Thistle and John Beaton in December 2018 went unanswered while, incredibly Aleksandar Tonev was given a seven match ban in 2014 on ‘the grounds of probability.
Having promised to contest the charges vigorously Celtic fans will be watching carefully to see how their club respond to a wholly manufactured charge against a club legend.
Following the news today that Celtic captain, Scott Brown and the Club have been cited by the SFA in relation to last Sunday’s game, a club spokesperson said: “Celtic will defend these charges vigorously.”

Time to call out these hypocrites in the SFA and defend our players. Scott Brown is being issued a ban for winning. We are being blamed for everything from Sevco fans crushing there own disabled supporters to people fighting in the streets.

Is this actually serious? Remind me again about the charges brought when the Ibrox game finished and the Celtic team and specifically Scott Brown walked off the park under extreme provocation?

Don’t hold back. Give it to them good once and for all.

Get in. Stick it to the blazers! Actions are more louder than words. Stand up and support Broony all the way. ????

Yep time to grow a set and fight this

See while you’re at it, can this spokesperson give us an update on #res12 & why it’s sat in the long grass rather then going to CAS?
— Judging EBTs:guilty (@AitkensDrum) April 4, 2019
That should be part of the argument. Contrast speed of charging Brown in interests of Association with delay in going to CAS with we don’t know what and ask is delay in interest of Association?

The Bunnet would have taken them to the cleaners, Celtic. Do what you need to do.

Paul McBride would gone after Fleming McRae and so on.
