Celtic face a battle with Hoffenheim to secure the signing of Liam Morrison.

According to a report in The Sun the 16-year-old is wanted by the German side.

Morrison has picked up six caps for the Scotland u-17 side this season and is a regular in the Celtic u-18 team.

A player can only sign a professional contract once they turn 16 with Hoffenheim putting an offer on the table for the Ayrshire kid who reached that birthday earlier this month.

Celtic are well aware of the battle that they face to hold on to their Academy kids having secured Karamoko Dembele earlier this season.

Former Celtic scout David Moss, who now works as an agent, is Morrison’s agent is advising the teenager with Celtic only entitled to a standard development fee if the defender decided to move elsewhere next season.

Morrison is expected to play in Thursday’s SFA Youth Cup Final at Hampden.
